The Demon Deacons have secured a verbal commitment from outside linebacker Julian Thomas (Dothan, Ala./Dothan), multiple sources report.
Thomas, who led his team in tackles this past season, also had offers from Arkansas State, Jacksonville State and Southern Miss.
Wake's coaching staff impressed Thomas on in-home visits, according to the Dothan Eagle:
"I felt it was like a family environment as I love all the coaches - coach (Brian) Knorr, coach Mac (Ray McCartney) and coach (Derrick) Jackson, who recruited me. From the first meeting with Wake Forest, they have been honest with me and told me the truth."
The 6-foot-3, 193-pounder played both OLB and ILB in high school and will likely provide scheme versatility at the next level.
