FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The AFC East championship hat and T-shirt sat bound together by an elastic band on one of the shelves in Patriots cornerback Leigh Bodden's locker following Sunday's 35-7 triumph over the Jacksonville Jaguars that wrapped up the division crown for the Patriots.

In his seventh year in the NFL, this will be Bodden's first trip to the playoffs. But he's got loftier goals than just making an appearance in the second season.

"We're in the playoffs now, this gives us an opportunity to get to the Super Bowl," said Bodden. "I'm definitely excited, but I'm not even going to put that hat on. I want that Super Bowl hat.

"I'm going to take [the AFC East championship hat] and enjoy it. But I'm looking forward to what else we can accomplish."

Bodden said the defense, which has given up just 27 points over this three-game winning streak, is playing with a lot of confidence as the playoffs near.

"We've always been confident, but it's pretty high right now," said Bodden. "To hold these guys to seven points, it's definitely something we wanted to do. Certainly, you want the shutout, but that's a good offense -- a good running game and a good passing attack. We're definitely excited, we've got a lot of confidence."
