FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots re-signed rookie guard Josh Kline (Kent State) to their practice squad on Friday, and released offensive tackle R.J. Dill (Rutgers) to make room for him.

Kline had made the Patriots' initial 53-man roster at the Aug. 31 cutdown, before he was waived Sept. 2 and signed to the team's practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster Sept. 7 and was active for the season opener against the Bills (but did not play).

The team released him Sept. 11 to make room on the 53-man roster for defensive tackle Chris Jones.

This marks the seventh practice squad transaction for the Patriots since the initial eight-man squad was formed Sept. 1.
