CINCINNATI -- At an initial glance, a look at players who were "up" in the New England Patriots' 13-6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and those at the opposite end of the spectrum:

Up
Ryan Allen -- Rookie punter had his best game of the season, particularly when working with a short field.

Jerod Mayo -- Linebacker seemed to be all over the field, with some of his best work in coverage.

Brandon Spikes -- Linebacker played in the sub defense over Dont'a Hightower, had an interception, and was a force against the run as he was sent downhill on run blitzes at times.

Down
LeGarrette Blount -- Running back fumbles in the second quarter to end one of the team's best drives of the day.

Tom Brady -- Quarterback didn't have his trademark accuracy and is intercepted on an underthrown pass on the team's final drive.

Nate Solder/offensive line -- Unit struggled early and the offense never could get into a rhythm as the ground game was inconsistent and pass protection up and down.
