Patriots starting center Ryan Wendell was among 11 players limited in Wednesday's practice, as it was revealed that he is dealing with a concussion. He did not miss any snaps in the team's Week 5 loss to the Bengals, and his status for this Sunday is unclear. Defensive end Rob Ninkovich (groin) was also an addition to the practice report.
Kelly left Sunday's loss to the Bengals with a right knee injury and didn't return. His absence highlights why the Patriots signed free-agent defensive tackle Andre Neblett on Wednesday, as depth is thin at the position, especially after the club lost veteran Vince Wilfork to a season-ending Achilles injury on Sept. 29.
After Sunday's game, Kelly said everything was good with the knee, and he walked out of the stadium under his own power and no noticeable limp.
As has been the case since the start of the season, tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) was a limited participant in practice, as were starting linebackers Jerod Mayo (ankle) and Dont'a Hightower (knee). Wide receiver Danny Amendola (groin), who made his return in Week 5 after three games missed, continues to practice on a limited basis.
Defensive end Michael Buchanan, one of three players missing from practice, was absent due to a non-injury-related issue.
Veteran defensive back Marquice Cole, who was limited due to a hamstring issue before his release last week, was not on the injury report after being re-signed this week.
