Before the New England Patriots play a game, we'll attempt to predict the team's inactive players.
Our best guess on the list for Sunday's home game against the Miami Dolphins:
Chris Barker: Rookie offensive guard is on the developmental track and has been inactive in each of the past four games.
Jake Bequette: The signing of veteran defensive end Andre Carter presumably would bump him down the depth chart behind Rob Ninkovich, Chandler Jones, Carter and Michael Buchanan.
Josh Boyce: Rookie receiver has been inactive the past two games as veteran Austin Collie has leapfrogged him on the depth chart.
Tommy Kelly: Veteran defensive tackle has missed the past three weeks of practice with a right knee injury and has already been ruled out.
Matthew Mulligan: With Rob Gronkowski back in the mix, and Michael Hoomanawanui also on the depth chart, it potentially makes a No. 3 blocking-based tight end a luxury. The Patriots would have to fill his role on the wedge on the kickoff return unit (perhaps Marcus Forston).
Leon Washington: Veteran running back missed the past three weeks of practice with an ankle injury and has already been ruled out.
Tavon Wilson: Reserve safety and core special-teams player has been limited with a hamstring injury and has missed the past three games. If he dresses, rookie linebacker Steve Beauharnais could be inactive.
