With New England Patriots rookies and most players coming off injuries reporting to training camp on Sunday, we now have a better idea of where many of them stand in terms of availability.

ESPN.com NFL Insider Field Yates reports that cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder), receivers Aaron Dobson (foot) and Jeremy Gallon (unknown), defensive tackle Tommy Kelly (torn ACL) and special teams captain Matthew Slater (unknown) have opened training camp on the active/physically-unable-to-perform list. This means they are not yet fully cleared.

Those players can come off the active/PUP list at any time. This makes it different than the reserve/PUP list during the season, which sidelines a player for at least the first six weeks.

Furthermore, Yates reports that first-round draft choice Dominique Easley (torn ACL), running back Roy Finch, linebacker Deontae Skinner and offensive tackle Chris Martin are opening camp on the active/non-football injury list. This means they are not yet fully cleared.

Similar to the active/PUP list, those players can come off the list at any time. One difference between the non-football injury list is that it includes players who sustained an injury before they arrived in the NFL.

At this time, the Patriots have not placed defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (ruptured Achilles) or tight end Rob Gronkowski (torn ACL) on the PUP list. It is our understanding that still remains an option for the team before Thursday's opening practice.
