FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Last week when Pro Bowl rosters were announced, ESPN.com's NFL Nation put together a list of those who are on the cusp that look like good choices for a first-time berth in 2016. Linebacker Dont'a Hightower was the choice for the New England Patriots.
On Thursday, Hightower met with reporters for the first time since the announcement of Pro Bowl rosters, and he was asked his thoughts on if he deserved a berth.
"Maybe, but I'm in the ring business," he told reporters.
Hightower said that he was happy for his seven teammates who earned berths, adding "I'm more into team goals."
Hightower has totaled 61 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two passes defended this season, with his value to the team accentuated by the struggles the run defense had in his absence.
