New England Patriots: Mark Levoir
Vollmer sustained a head injury in last Sunday's win over the Jets, although he returned to action in that game.
Vollmer, who did not practice Friday, has started the team's last five games.
If Vollmer does not play Monday, veteran Matt Light would likely slide back in at left tackle. Light has been out since injuring his right knee in the second half of the team's loss in Denver Oct. 11, but appears close to a return. Swing tackle Mark LeVoir is another possibility.
Veteran running back Fred Taylor (ankle) was the other player not spotted at the start of practice, while rookie receiver Julian Edelman (forearm) returned after missing Friday's session.
Tully Banta-Cain -- In just 26 snaps, outside linebacker/defensive end plays through injury and totals five tackles (one for a loss), two sacks and a forced fumble.
Leigh Bodden -- Cornerback ties a Patriots record with three interceptions.
Mark LeVoir -- Offensive tackle comes off the bench in a pinch and delivers a crushing block on a receiver screen that highlights the physical edge with which the Patriots played.
Ty Warren -- Defensive end ties for the team high with six tackles, continuing to do the dirty work that is easy to overlook.
Wes Welker -- Receiver notches career highs with 15 receptions and 192 yards.
Mark LeVoir enters as the left tackle. If LeVoir or right tackle Nick Kaczur are injured at any point, it would require a reshuffling along the line.
The likely scenario would have left guard Logan Mankins kicking out to tackle, with Rich Ohrnberger entering the game at guard.
Vollmer was examined by trainers during the Jets' first offensive series of the second quarter. When the Patriots' offense came back on the field, Mark LeVoir took over at left tackle.
The Patriots deemed Vollmer's return questionable.
LONDON -- The Patriots have filled their two open roster spots by activating rookie receiver Brandon Tate and veteran offensive lineman Mark LeVoir.
Tate, a third-round draft choice out of the University of North Carolina, opened the season on the non-football injury list as he was still recovering from torn knee ligaments sustained during his final season with the Tar Heels.
Tate bolsters a receiving corps that has been thinned this week; Julian Edelman is out with a forearm injury and Joey Galloway was released. Tate also should be a factor in the return game.
LeVoir opened the season on the physically unable to perform list with a shoulder injury. With starting left tackle Matt Light out with a right knee injury, LeVoir adds depth.
Rookie Sebastian Vollmer started last week at left tackle. LeVoir projects as the swing tackle -- the top backup -- as he eases his way back into action.
