FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New Orleans Saints right tackle Zach Strief was declared inactive for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots with an ankle injury. Second-year pro Bryce Harris is expected to make his second career start in Strief’s place.
That’s definitely a setback for the Saints since Harris is unproven. But Harris has played in every game this year as the sixth lineman/extra tight end in jumbo sets. And he said this week that it helps to get the first-string snaps in practice all week.
Also inactive for the Saints are receiver Lance Moore (hand) and running back Mark Ingram (toe), who were listed as questionable. The Saints have played without both offensive weapons for several weeks, though, so they’ve proven they can absorb those losses with their deep offense. Safety Roman Harper (knee) and defensive lineman Tyrunn Walker (knee) were previously declared out.
