Saints' travel tweaks in effect

METAIRE, La. -- As promised, the New Orleans Saints’ players were decked out in their new travel sweat suits and loading up on Popeyes chicken as they prepared to fly out to Philadelphia on Friday.

Although the Saints were in “wink-wink” mode all week, having fun with the media as they discussed how all the new wrinkles they planned to add into their travel approach would make all the difference this week -- they went ahead and instituted the changes anyway.

The idea: Instead of dwelling on the fact that they’re 3-5 on the road this season and 0-5 in road playoff games in their franchise’s history, why not have fun with it?

“Coach is a man of his word. Everything he said, we have,” Saints receiver Robert Meachem said. “For us, we just have to go out and play a great game.”

“Besides all that stuff, it’s a big game tomorrow. We all know that,” tight end Jimmy Graham said. “We all know that, this city knows that, the Eagles know that. And it’ll be a battle, that’s for sure.”
