Giants sign FB Ryan D'Imperio

July, 26, 2013
With Henry Hynoski recovering from offseason knee surgery, the Giants signed fullback Ryan D'Imperio on Friday.

The team announced it waived kicker David Buehler. Hynoski has said he hopes to be ready for the season opener. He had surgery to repair his medial collateral ligament and a chip fracture to the lateral plateau in late May. TE Bear Pascoe is expected to see snaps at fullback in camp.

D'Imperio, who went to Rutgers, appeared in two preseason games in 2012 with the Chiefs but did not play during the regular season. He was waived this past May.

D'Imperio, who played at Washington Township High School in Sewell, N.J., was drafted in the seventh round in 2010 by Minnesota and spent his rookie season on the practice squad. He played in 12 games in 2011 with a start at New Orleans.

Buehler was signed this offseason to help the Giants with kickoff duties and compete with Josh Brown.
