Rex Ryan, who stated emphatically last week that the New York Jets didn't commit a pushing penalty on a New England Patriots field goal, didn't have much to say Monday when asked to respond to reports that stated the Jets should've been called for a penalty.
"Yeah, I've just moved past that," Ryan said. "All we continue to do is do whatever we can to play within the confinements of the rules and that's how we play."
The league office sent a memo to all 32 head coaches, pointing out that the Jets' Quinton Coples violated the no-pushing rule on Stephen Gostkowski's game-tying field goal last week. It became a big issue because Patriots coach Bill Belichick, whose team was busted for pushing in overtime, declared publicly that the Jets should've been flagged as well.
