Defensive back Kyle Wilson was named by the New York Jets as the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year, which recognizes community service and playing excellence.

Wilson received $1,000 to donate to the Piscataway High School football program, his alma mater and charity of choice. He's eligible for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year, which is announced prior to the Super Bowl.

In 2011, Wilson became the Jets' spokesman for the league-sponsored "Play 60" program, making more than 20 visits to schools in New Jersey. He's involved in owner Woody Johnson's charity, the Alliance for Lupus Research.
