Jets make a flurry of roster moves
By Rich Cimini
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Reacting to injuries, the Jets made several roster moves Monday. They re-signed OLB Bryan Thomas and WR Patrick Turner, and waived DT Marcus Dixon, CB Donnie Fletcher and OT Dennis Landolt.
Thomas' return came as no surprise. He was released Saturday in a move designed to create a roster spot for Sunday's game in Miami. Even though it didn't cost him a nickel -- his salary is guaranteed -- Thomas, the Jets' longest-tenured player, said Monday he was "pissed" that he was let go for a couple of days. Thomas, who wasn't going to play anyway in Miami because of a hamstring injury, said he'll be ready to play Sunday against the 49ers.
Turner's return gives them six wide receivers, a strong indication they don't expect rookie Stephen Hill (hamstring) to play Sunday.
The roster currently stands at 52. They will have two openings once they put CB Darrelle Revis (knee) on injured reserve.
