Injury Report: Tone time in Cincy?

By Matt Ehalt

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jets coach Rex Ryan is unsure whether receiver Santonio Holmes (foot/hamstring) will return Sunday against Cincinnati. Despite having a helmet on and stretching with the team Wednesday, Holmes did not practice and hasn't worked since suffering the injury Sept. 29.

"Holmes is progressing," Ryan said. "I know he's working awfully hard so hopefully he'll be out there soon."

Tight end Jeff Cumberland (hamstring) also did not practice Wednesday, but Ryan is optimistic Cumberland will be ready for Sunday. With Kellen Winslow suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, Cumberland is the starting tight end.

"I think he's going to be OK, but we held him out today," Ryan said.
