Promoter Bob Arum was in New York on Thursday, for a press conference at Chelsea Piers trumpeting the June 9 Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley showdown, which will unfold in Las Vegas.
He told us that he thinks Pacman-Bradley will be a fan-friendly tussle, and said that this pairing should satisfy fans who have wanted Manny to take on a young gun. Bradley, at age 28, with a 28-0 (12 KOs; this will be his second fight at welterweight) record is that. I also asked Arum if he was as hopeful that he could help bring a Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight to fruition. Arum didn’t sound like that is a distinct possibility. Watch the video here, and hear Arum take a slap at “Money.”
