Joe Greene gets win in Queens

Fighting for the first time as pro in his native Queens, Joe Greene shed some rust and got the W on Thursday night at the Cordon Blue in Woodhaven.

"I won a unanimous decision," he informed NYFightblog. Greene, age 26, rose to 25-1 with the UD8 over Calvin Odom, who dropped to 15-13. "I was definitely rusty but got the job done."

That was Greene's first bout since January 2012. Now living in Florida, he's campaigned as high as 167 and as low as 151 1/2 pounds since turning professional in 2005, but wants to make a splash in welterweight waters now.
