Schaefer wants Floyd on CBS

Promoter Richard Schaefer told writers that he's "working on getting Floyd Mayweather dates on CBS" during a Wednesday news conference at Barclays Center to hype the Saturday Golden Boy card.

That'd be something. Mayweather a couple weeks ago jumped ship from HBO to Showtime. CBS' reach, bigger than HBO's, might've been a lure for Floyd, beyond a fat pay package.

Could a Floyd fight on free TV, rather than PPV, and gross close to what is collected from the PPV model? I guess that's up for Schaefer to figure out, along with the suits at Showtime and CBS. But that'd be great for the sport as whole.
