Broner trainer says Paulie's a smallie

Paul Malignaggi suspects that Adrien Broner might not yet be suited for the welterweight class. Broner fought at 135 his last bout, and now leaps up two classes to test Malignaggi, the WBA welter champ, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday.

Broner's trainer, Mike Stafford, told me that Paulie is off base with his opinion.

"Adrien spars with guys twice as big as Paulie," he said. "Little guys, we have to send home. He can't spar no 135-pounders; they have to be 150, 160."
