Floyd Mayweather, the 36-year-old love-him-or-hate-him personality who owns the WBC welterweight crown, puts his 43-0 record on the line Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, against Robert Guerrero, a California-based boxer who believes that God has positioned him to face and beat Mayweather.
Here is a selection of predictions from some New York area or affiliated folks.
Justin Bieber, musician (Mayweather): “I've got Floyd all day.”
Marlon Byrd, New York Mets OF(Mayweather): “Floyd’s going to knock him out in the eighth round.”
Braylon Edwards, ex Jets WR (Mayweather): “Never bet against Floyd.”
Curtis Granderson, New York Yankees OF (Mayweather): “I have to say Floyd’s going to keep that zero in the loss column.”
Metta World Peace, Los Angeles Lakers F (Mayweather): “Mayweather will rally late in the fight to win a decision, eight rounds to four.”
Me, I'm with the pack. Here's my prediction: “Floyd gets the W, same as last time, and the time before, and the time before that. Guerrero is willing and skilled, but limited. Floyd gets the unanimous decision, but his face will tell you after that he's been in a fight.”
Please fire us your prediction, readers.
