Irishman Patrick Hyland is coming close to a signature fight, possibly a title crack, but he must get past Carlos Fulgencio at Sahlen Stadium in Rochester, NY on Aug. 8 first. The 26-0 Hyland, who is under the Team Snooki Boxing banner, has 12 KOs to his credit. He is a smart boxer who picks his spots, stays busy and knows his limits.
The Rochester card is promoted by Pretty Girl Promotions. Mike Pascale of Final Round Promotions, which works in concert with Team Snooki, told NYFightBlog about Fulgencio (19-7-1 with 12 KOs; from Dominican Republic), and what could be next for Hyland if he wins.
"Fulgencio can be dangerous but this fight is to keep Patrick busy," Pascale said. "This is his third fight in seven months. His next fight will most likely be in November for hopefully the NABF featherweight title. Also, should he win the Fulgencio fight he will have the most consecutive wins, 27, of any boxer in the Republic of Ireland.
"When we win the NABF our next goal is Billy Dibb, the IBF champion. Billy and Patrick text each other and both would said they would like to fight each other. This would be an awesome fight. I have my fingers crossed."
