Jerry Sloan and D-Will: The last straw

Jazz CEO Greg Miller harkened back to the night when Jerry Sloan and former Utah point guard Deron Williams clashed, prompting Sloan’s resignation and, eventually, the trade that sent D-Will to the Nets.

Sloan and Williams got into an argument at halftime about the final play of the half on Feb. 9, 2011.

From the AP story:



Sloan walked away from the team toward his office and past Miller, saying: "I'd like to have a word with you after the game."

Williams shot back, "Yeah, I want to be in the meeting, too."

"Do you want me to quit right now?" Sloan replied.
