It looks like free-agent sharpshooter Kyle Korver might soon be calling Brooklyn home.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein tweeted that a rival GM with interest in Korver told him, "Hearing Korver to Brooklyn is in the bag."

A source told ESPNNewYork.com on Friday that the Nets were interested in Korver.

The NBA free-agency period began at 12:01 a.m. Nets coach Jason Kidd and point guard Deron Williams both started following Korver on Twitter.

Here's how D-Will responded to a tweet by Kaleb Korver, Kyle's brother:

"NETS RT @KalebKorver: Too excited for my (possibly) new favorite NBA team. #NBAFreeAgency @KyleKorver @KlayKorver @KirkKorver"

Responded, Kaleb: "Lol. Well played @DeronWilliams"

Korver shot 45.7 percent from 3-point range last season, and the Nets are looking for shooting help on the wing.

Williams and Korver are good friends, going back to their days playing for the Utah Jazz.

Korver was acquired on draft day in 2002 by then-Sixers GM Billy King, who, of course, is now the Nets' GM.

Korver, 32, would have to take a pay cut to join the Nets, who can offer him only their entire taxpayer mini-midlevel exception -- three years, approximately $10 million.

Korver made $5 million with the Atlanta Hawks last season. He signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Chicago Bulls on July 12, 2010.
