Deron Williams won’t be playing Saturday, Monday or Tuesday due to his sprained right ankle.

When will he play next? Who knows.

As D-Will has reiterated time and again, his goal is to be ready for the Brooklyn Nets' regular-season opener on Oct. 30 in Cleveland.

He’s currently not doing anything other than light shooting, according to Nets coach Jason Kidd, so he doesn’t appear to be close.

But again, you have to remember the Nets are making D-Will take it slow because they don’t want him to overexert himself and make the injury worse.

A good approach when you consider how much he was hampered by inflammation in both ankles last season.

Better to be safe than sorry when it counts.

The Nets and their fans are hopeful that Williams will be his old self when he finally takes the floor in a game again -- whenever that may be.

Culture change: With the regular-season opener three weeks away, it’s safe to say -- at least from the small sample size we’ve seen so far -- that things will be different in 2013-14. Here's our story.

AK and LBJ: Kidd compared Andrei Kirilenko to LeBron James in terms only of his ability to fill up the stat sheet. No, Kidd was not saying 31-year-old AK-47 is as good as the best player in the world.

Do the cookie dance: Yes, the Nets can dance. You can check out their moves.

Off and on: The Nets were off Thursday but hit the practice court again Friday prior to Saturday night’s preseason game against Philly. Ohm Youngmisuk will have you covered.
