Nets point guard Deron Williams (sprained right ankle) will not play Wednesday night against the Celtics in Boston, according to the team’s official media game notes.

Williams has yet to play in the preseason and still has not been cleared for contact.

It is unknown when he’ll return, though Williams has said his goal is to play in the team’s regular-season opener on Oct. 30 in Cleveland.

Kevin Garnett (rest) and Paul Pierce (rest) are also out. So is Tornike Shengelia (right knee rehab).
