NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams saw an increase in minutes in Friday night’s 101-100 victory over the Miami Heat Friday night at Barclays Center.

Williams, who played 22 minutes Wednesday night against Cleveland, logged 27 against the Heat.

After not playing in the fourth quarter Wednesday night, Williams played nine fourth-quarter minutes Friday night.

He is still trying to get fully healthy after suffering a sprained right ankle injury during an offseason workout in Utah that limited him to just 10 minutes during the preseason.

“It feels good,” Williams said after scoring 8 points, dishing out 8 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds. “I got my minutes up. I’m just trying to get into the swing of things. My explosiveness isn’t there yet. I’ve only had a couple practices.”

Williams said he told trainer Tim Walsh that he was feeling soreness that he should’ve felt about a month ago in training camp. Oh well.

“Once that passes it’ll be a lot better,” he said.

GM Billy King had said during an interview with WFAN that Williams would return to his normal minutes Sunday in Orlando.

• Forward Andrei Kirilenko made his regular-season debut with the Nets, scoring 8 points in 12 minutes and being a factor on both ends of the floor.

Kirilenko missed the team’s regular-season opener due to back spasms.

“I feel great,” he said.

Kirilenko tested his back when he caught a pass from his former Jazz teammate Williams and went in for a baseline dunk.

“I was a little scared [when I went up], but I was feeling good,” Kirilenko said with a smile.

Kirilenko hopes to see his minutes increase Sunday.

• According to ESPN Stats & Information, LeBron James went 2-for-8 from the field with four points and three turnovers when he was guarded by Paul Pierce. James went 9-for-11 from the field with 22 points and two turnovers when being guarded by everyone else. … The Heat shot 35.7 percent (5-for-14) on pick-and-roll plays against Brooklyn’s D.
