Exactly a year ago to the day, the Brooklyn Nets were blown out by the San Antonio Spurs by 31 points on New Year's Eve. The Nets hope for a different result Tuesday night, when the teams meet again at the AT&T Center. Here’s what we’ll be watching for:
GOOD LUCK: The Nets (10-20) have not won in San Antonio since Game 2 of the 2003 NBA Finals. They are 1-19 in their last 20 regular-season games against the Spurs, the lone victory coming during their 12-win year in 2009-10. In that 104-73 loss Dec. 31, 2012, the Nets were outscored 30-5 in the third quarter.
BE AGGRESSIVE: Deron Williams says he needs to be more aggressive. He’s taken just 39 shots and averaged 12.5 points in his last four games. If the Nets are going to pull a massive upset in this one, D-Will is going to have to play well against Tony Parker.
AK47 BACK? Could be. Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) said he could return to the lineup after missing the last 25 games, depending on how he feels in the morning.
