Garnett is getting a rest day, Nets coach Jason Kidd said. Reggie Evans will start in his place.
Kidd cited the fact that the Nets are also playing Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next week as the reason for the decision to rest Garnett.
Garnett, 37, has played in 29 of the team’s first 32 games of the season. He also received rest days Nov. 29 in Houston and Dec. 20 in Philadelphia.
Garnett is averaging career-lows across the board, including points (6.4 per game), rebounds (6.9), field-goal percentage (36.7) and minutes (21.7). His player efficiency rating of 10.44 is below the league average of 15.
