W2W4: Nets vs. Pelicans

The Brooklyn Nets, who were blown out in Detroit two days ago, face the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday night at Barclays Center. Here’s what we’ll be watching for:

COMING OFF A DEMOLITION: The Nets (22-26) were demolished by the Pistons, getting dominated on the glass, on the interior and in transition. Deron Williams didn’t register an assist for the first time in a game in which he played regular minutes since his rookie season. Brooklyn needs to rediscover its ball movement on offense, while trying to limit New Orleans to one shot and done on defense.

KG RETURNS: Kevin Garnett is expected to be back in the starting lineup after receiving a rest day Friday night, which certainly hurt the Nets in the paint. In his last 12 games, Garnett is averaging 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks on 56.8 percent shooting.

SEEN THIS BEFORE: Brook Lopez made his first All-Star team last season as an injury replacement, despite putting up numbers that probably should’ve landed him on the team in the first place. This season’s Lopez is Anthony Davis, who is averaging 20.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game. With the 20-year-old center leading the way, the Pelicans (22-27) are 6-2 in their last eight games.
