EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brooklyn Nets reserve big man Reggie Evans will miss the next two games for personal reasons, the team announced.

Evans, 33, has mostly been out of the rotation, appearing in just 30 games this season. He is averaging 2.7 points and 5.0 rebounds on 39 percent shooting in 13.3 minutes per game.

• Nets coach Jason Kidd thinks that center Kevin Garnett did get stitches after colliding with Shaun Livingston and sustaining a cut on his head.

Kidd didn’t have a decision yet on whether Garnett would appear in both games of this Wednesday-Thursday back-to-back, saying, “Just tonight. That’s all I know.”

• The Feb. 20 trade deadline is nearly a week away.

Asked what he thinks about the team’s roster, guard Joe Johnson said, “I think we’ve got the pieces. In the playoffs, there are no back-to-backs, you get enough time to prepare and rest and gear up for each individual game. I think we’ve got what it takes.”

Added Kidd: “That’s up to management. For right now, this is who we have.”

The Nets are short on assets to trade -- unless they decide to part with one of their big pieces, of course -- but will explore their options, regardless.
