The talk of the NBA was Phil Jackson signing on to be the president of the New York Knicks.

But Paul Pierce wasn't in the mood to talk about the Knicks' newest would-be savior.

“I don't talk about the Knicks,” Pierce said at Nets practice in Miami on Friday according to the New York Daily News. “No Knicks questions. Ever.”

Pierce's rivalry with the Knicks was forged by years as a Boston Celtic playing against New York in the Atlantic Division. His arrival to Brooklyn last summer only heightened the rivalry for him as Pierce said the Nets were ready to take over the city and start converting Knicks fans into Nets fans.

"We got to start converting some of these longtime Knicks fans that live in Brooklyn to Brooklyn Nets fans," Pierce said before the season began. "Because now they got a team in Brooklyn."

Pierce said his rivalry with the Knicks had become even bigger as a Net now that he lives and plays in the same city as the Knicks. It's a rivalry that surely will only be enhanced with Jackson's arrival. Just don't ask Pierce about it, though.

Injury report: The Nets say Andrei Kirilenko participated in practice on Friday in Miami and is a game-time decision against the Wizards in Washington on Saturday night. Kevin Garnett, who did not make this trip, remains out with back spasms.
