NEW YORK –- The Brooklyn Nets will try to win a 16th-straight home game without their starting backcourt.

Deron Williams is resting tonight against Atlanta with right patella tendinitis. Shaun Livingston will miss his second straight game with a toe injury.

The Nets will rest some of their key players in the remaining four games before the playoffs begin.

“Deron is going to rest tonight,” head coach Jason Kidd said. “[Just] make sure he is alright. He will get some treatment and rest and hopefully he will go Sunday.”

The Nets will start Jorge Gutierrez, Alan Anderson, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett against the Hawks (35-43). Andray Blatche is also available to play tonight for the Nets after missing two games due to illness.

Atlanta can secure the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs with a win over the Nets and a New York Knicks’ loss at Toronto.
