Starting Five: To shave, or not to shave?

Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd told ESPN NY 98.7 FM's Michael Kay and Don La Greca on Monday that he was contemplating shaving his beard.

“I don’t do well with things for a long time,” Kidd said. “So it’s time to go back with a younger look, I think.”

Seems like Kidd is messing with fire here. After all, the Nets have compiled the fifth-best record in the NBA since Jan. 1 (34-15) -- which coincided with Kidd's decision to stop wearing ties and stop shaving.

As his beard grew, so too did his team.

Question: Should Kidd shave? You don’t mess with superstitions, right? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments section below.

In case you missed it: Kidd also said he wasn’t the New York Knicks’ missing link, though most would argue otherwise.

Up next: The Nets host the Knicks on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center.
