Brooklyn does not have a pick, but general manager Billy King has said he is interested in trading into the draft if a player they like is available. Here is one who could entice them to trade for a late first-round or second-round pick.

C.J. FAIR/F/SYRACUSE

HEIGHT: 6-foot-8

WEIGHT: 215

THE 411: Fair, who will turn 23 prior to the start of the 2014-15, is a four-year college player known for his athleticism and scoring ability. He averaged 16.5 points per game in his senior campaign, but shot just 42.9 percent from the field. As a junior, Fair shot 46.9 percent from 3-point range. But as a senior, he shot just 27.6 percent from beyond the arc.

FORD PROJECTION: According to ESPN.com Insider Chad Ford, Fair is projected to go late in the second round or be undrafted. He is ranked 54th on Ford’s top-100 list of prospects.

FORD’S REPORT: (March 17) Fair is the best scorer on the team right now, but other than some elite hops, much of his game doesn't really translate to the next level.

Ford lists Fair’s positives as “long, athletic wing; runs the floor well; impressive leaper; active around the basket; sporting a very improved jump shot this year” and his negatives as “needs to add strength; a bit of a tweener.”

WHY SHOULD THE NETS TRADE TO PICK HIM: Fair is a project who could give the Nets some depth at both forward positions -- though more likely small forward in the NBA given his “tweener” height and slender frame. At this point, he seems like a realistic option if King can buy his way into the draft. Then, it would be up to the Nets to work with him and help him improve several facets of his game.
