Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Markel Brown will be out of action 4-6 weeks because of a fractured right hand, the team announced.

Brown suffered the injury -- officially a non-displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand -- while working out in Las Vegas on Monday.

Brown was the first of three second-round picks the Nets acquired in this year's draft.

The hope is Brown will be ready for the start of training camp, which begins Sept. 26.
