EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams did not practice Thursday, but said he will play Friday night against the Phoenix Suns.

Williams is averaging 36.3 minutes per game and has battled injuries, so the Nets took an opportunity Thursday to let him rest. He is averaging 20 points and 8.8 assists on 48.1 percent shooting in the past four games.

The Nets will likely have veteran reserve Jerry Stackhouse back in the lineup Friday. Stackhouse missed Wednesday night's game at Philadelphia for personal reasons.

"I didn't ask him how he felt, but he went through the practice and looked good," interim coach P.J. Carlesimo said.

Reserve forward Mirza Teletovic missed Thursday's practice due to illness, and it is unknown if he'll be able to play Friday.

"We sent him to the doctor because he wasn't feeling very good, so it could be the same deal, [waiting to see] how he feels tomorrow," Carlesimo said.

Teletovic is averaging 11 points in his last two games and has made six of his last 11 3-point attempts.
