Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams declined comment after being ejected for the first time this season late in Saturday night’s 119-106 loss to the Houston Rockets, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

Williams was thrown out after being fouled with 1:07 remaining in the fourth quarter.

“The referee said (Deron) said something to him, and threw (Deron) out,” Nets interim coach P.J. Carlesimo told reporters in Houston.

Williams finished with 27 points -- 20 of those in the first quarter -- along with 11 assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 41 minutes.

D-Will went 7-for-7 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw stripe in the opening period. His 20 points were the most by a Net in any quarter this season.

Williams rolled his left ankle early in the second quarter, but remained in the game. He also hurt his left hand trying to swipe the ball from a driving Jeremy Lin in the fourth.

D-Will didn’t receive much help from his teammates on Saturday night. The Rockets outscored the Nets 60-24 in the paint and 27-7 on the fastbreak. They also won the rebounding battle, 50-31.

Brooklyn (26-18) kicked off its four-game roadtrip with a pair of wins, but gave up a combined 129 first-half points and 122 points in the paint in back-to-back blowout losses in Memphis and Houston.

“We’re just getting annihilated in the paint,” Carlesimo said.

The Nets, just 10-18 against teams with .500 or better records this season, now begin a stretch of four straight games at Barclays Center, where they have won seven in a row.

A victory Monday night over the Orlando Magic would go a long way to helping them forget these these two embarrassments.
