Let's face it -- until Carmelo Anthony actually tweets, "Thank you fans for eight wonderful seasons in Denver, I'm now heading to ...", it will be hard to believe what's said about the Nuggets superstar's future landing ground. After it was reported over the weekend that Anthony would not sign an extension with the Nuggets unless he was shipped only to the Knicks, Denver's 7 News local affiliate posted late last night on their website that the Nugs and Nets had a potential trade on the table.
Here was the reported deal: Anthony would go to the Nets and the Nuggets would receive rookie Derrick Favors, two first-round draft picks and the expiring contract of Troy Murphy. But immediately after word broke, Nuggets GM Masai Ujiri and even Anthony himself said it was false (NBA FanHouse)."It's terrible," Anthony said. "There's no truth to it."
