W2W4: Nets vs. Mavericks

The Brooklyn Nets will look to build on their victory over New Orleans three days ago when they face the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night at Barclays Center. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m.; here’s what we’ll be watching for:

ISO JOE A GO: Joe Johnson says he will play on Friday night after missing the last three games due to a sore left heel. The Nets (34-24) went 1-2 without Johnson in the lineup, so they’ll be more than happy to get their third-leading scorer (17 ppg) back in there.

D-WILL VS. BIG D: Deron Williams chose the Nets over the Mavericks in the offseason. D-Will said Friday he has no regrets about his decision and is glad to be playing in Brooklyn. D-Will is averaging 22.8 points and 8.4 assists since the All-Star break.

DIRK: Dirk Nowitzki scored just 10 points in his last outing on Wednesday, but has started to rediscover his game. He’s played just 28 games this season due to injury. He’s averaging 19.6 points per contest over his last five. The Mavericks currently rank eighth in the NBA in points per game (101.0). Dallas (25-32) has lost three in a row.
