Brooklyn Nets small forward Gerald Wallace thinks he can do better.

A lot better.

“Make a shot. A layup, something. Any [expletive] thing,” Wallace said after going 1-for-8 from the field in his team’s 105-93 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night at Barclays Center.

Wallace, who came in making just 47.3 percent of his layup attempts, went 1-for-7 on layup tries Sunday night. He is 11-for-his-last-48 from the field (22.9 percent) over the past six games.

JUST A SCRATCH: Both Deron Williams and Wallace said they were fine after getting hurt in the second quarter. Williams’ head collided with Josh Smith's chest as the two were going for a loose ball, while Wallace collided with Ivan Johnson as he was driving for a layup. Both remained in the game.

WELCOME BACK, JOE: Joe Johnson went 7-for-16 from the field and scored 18 points in 38 minutes in his return after sitting out Tuesday night’s game to rest his sore left heel.

THE NUMBERS: The Nets dropped to 22-14 at Barclays Center this season, including 16-5 against the Eastern Conference. Interim coach P.J. Carlesimo fell to 24-14 since taking over for Avery Johnson.
