Sources: Nets won't be able to sign Korver

By Mike Mazzeo

The Brooklyn Nets are out of the running for free-agent sharpshooter Kyle Korver, Chris Broussard of ESPN The Magazine tweeted Wednesday morning, citing sources.

"Nets don't have enough $ to offer him," Broussard tweeted.

Kyle Korver's next team? It's still anybody's guess.
The Nets, who are well over the salary cap, could offer Korver only a three-year contract worth $9.6 million.

Korver made $5 million last season and is 32 years old. With 3-point shooting at a premium in the league, this will likely be his last chance to cash in.

The Milwaukee Bucks are pitching a three-year deal to Korver in the $20 million range, sources close to the situation told Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

"A number of teams," one source told Stein, "are going hard after Kyle."

The Nets had serious interest in Korver, and point guard Deron Williams recruited him on social media.

But it's not going to work out, so the Nets will have to look elsewhere to improve their shooting.

Bojan Bogdanovic, who the Nets were contemplating bringing over from Europe, could come back into play. There were also reports that the team was looking into free-agent Marco Belinelli.
