Rapid Reaction: Jazz 98, Nets 69
By Mike Mazzeo
The Brooklyn Nets dropped to 0-3 in Summer League play under first-year coach Jason Kidd after getting blown out, 98-69, by the Utah Jazz on Wednesday afternoon in Orlando, Fla.
QUICK RECAP: Chris Wright led the Nets with 20 points. Tyshawn Taylor added 10 points. Mason Plumlee had his first poor showing after back-to-back stellar efforts, scoring just four points on 1-for-4 shooting. The Nets were plagued by 22 turnovers.
LIGHTS OUT: With 0.6 seconds left, Kidd called timeout because the Nets were trailing 22-20 in the fourth and teams accumulate points in the Summer League standings for every quarter they win. The lights in the gym went out shortly thereafter.
SUMMER SCHOOL OVER? GM Billy King told reporters in Orlando that Kidd may not coach the team’s final two Summer League games to give other coaches a chance to run the team, according to the New York Post.
