Nets more talented than championship C's?

By Mike Mazzeo

Last week, Paul Pierce said he thought this Nets team is the most talented team he's ever played for -- at least on paper. Read more about it here.

And remember, Pierce played on the 2007-08 Celtics championship team.

A look at its depth chart:

PG: Rajon Rondo/Sam Cassell/Eddie House/Gabe Pruitt

SG: Ray Allen/Tony Allen

SF: Paul Pierce/James Posey

PF: Kevin Garnett/Leon Powe/Glen Davis/Brian Scalabrine

C: Kendrick Perkins/P.J. Brown/Scott Pollard

A look at this season's projected Nets' depth chart:

PG: Deron Williams/Shaun Livingston/Tyshawn Taylor

SG: Joe Johnson/Jason Terry/Alan Anderson

SF: Paul Pierce/Andrei Kirilenko/Tornike Shengelia

PF: Kevin Garnett/Reggie Evans/Mirza Teletovic

C: Brook Lopez/Andray Blatche/Mason Plumlee

The Celtics, buoyed by Their Big 3 and a defense that ranked second in the NBA, won 66 games during the regular season. Boston's depth wasn't as great as Brooklyn's is now, but its starting lineup featured a young Rondo and Allen, Pierce and Garnett still in their primes.
