Starting Five: Stein ranks Nets 15th
By Mike Mazzeo
NEW YORK -- The Brooklyn Nets have fallen to 15th place in ESPN.com senior writer Marc Stein’s NBA Power Rankings.
They had been 11th.
Wrote Stein: “The Knicks’ woes can bring only so much satisfaction. It’s quite clear that D-Will and especially KG are nowhere near the level they’ll have to be for the Nets to ultimately be a playoff factor, but these guys have to be up there on list of early-season disappointments. Whatever the circumstances.”
The Nets (2-4) will practice again Tuesday before hitting the road for three games out West.
In case you missed it: The Nets practiced at Fort Hamilton Army Base on Monday. Andrei Kirilenko did not, and there is no timetable for his return. Meanwhile, Kevin Garnett is looking to find his game in Brooklyn.
Fact of the day: When KG made his NBA debut on Nov. 3, 1995, rookie Mason Plumlee was five years old.
Question: Where would you rank the Nets?
What’s next: Ohm Youngmisuk will have you covered Tuesday at practice. And then it’s off to Sacramento they go.
