Nets' Cory Jefferson honors Isaiah Austin

By Mike Mazzeo

Lost in all the turmoil the Brooklyn Nets have been going through recently is one extremely commendable gesture by Cory Jefferson.

Jefferson, one of three second-round picks that was acquired by the Nets on draft night, is wearing jersey No. 21 for the Nets in honor of his former Baylor teammate Isaiah Austin.

Now all I need are some goggles and I'll be official like @IsaiahAustin ?? #21 pic.twitter.com/qTQBaYwj6r

Austin, in case you aren’t aware by now, had his NBA dream taken away from him before it even began after being diagnosed with Marfan syndrome.

Jefferson had six points and nine rebounds for the Nets in his Summer League debut Saturday.
