Humphries comes in at No. 84 in #NBArank
By Mike Mazzeo
Nets power forward Kris Humphries was revealed as the 84th-best player in the NBA according to ESPN.com’s #NBArank.
Not bad for a guy who is more known around the world for his failed 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian than his basketball ability.
Humphries, who signed a two-year, $24 million contract to stay with Brooklyn in the offseason, was the first Nets’ starter to be revealed in the rankings. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez and Gerald Wallace are the others.
Sixth-man MarShon Brooks came in at No. 148.
• Earlier Wednesday, I posted a projected Nets’ 10-man rotation on Twitter:
C: Brook Lopez/Andray Blatche
PF: Kris Humphries/Mirza Teletovic
SF: Gerald Wallace/Josh Childress
SG: Joe Johnson/MarShon Brooks
PG: Deron Williams/C.J. Watson
I was immediately flooded with messages asking why I didn’t include Reggie Evans in the rotation ahead of Blatche. There were also some clamoring for rookie second-rounder Tornike Shengelia to be in the mix. Whatever.
The point is, GM Billy King and assistant GM Bobby Marks did a tremendous job adding depth to the roster. There certainly weren’t any arguments about who the backup center should be last season, that’s for sure.
