Joe Johnson: We're still better than Knicks

Joe Johnson isn’t changing his tune.

Prior to Round III of The Battle of The Boroughs on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, Johnson reiterated his earlier position that the Brooklyn Nets are better than the New York Knicks.

“I said what I said,” Johnson told the New York Daily News after the Nets’ 92-90 loss to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night. “That’s it.”

He had told essentially the same thing before Round II.

The Knicks (18-6) currently lead the Nets (13-11) by five games in the Atlantic Division standings.

“We're going in front of a hostile crowd, we just got to play with a sense of urgency and a chip on our shoulder,” Johnson told the Daily News.

Kris Humphries is excited to be re-united with the Garden crowd, which has viciously booed him in the past, due to his failed 72-day celebrity marriage to Kim Kardashian.

“They love me there,” Humphries said. “They boo you, that means they love you.”

The East River rivals split their previous two meetings.
