Blatche: 'No emotional ties'

By Mike Mazzeo

Everyone seems to be making a big deal about Andray Blatche’s return to D.C. -- except for Blatche himself.

“I have no feeling at all for it,” Blatche told reporters in Washington prior to Friday night’s Nets-Wizards game. “It’s another game. It’s a regular game for me. No emotional ties or nothing.”

After seven mostly tumultuous seasons in Washington, Blatche has resurrected his career in Brooklyn. The Nets took a chance on the 26-year-old center in the offseason, signing him to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract. He’s rewarded them by becoming a valuable reserve and is currently averaging 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds on 48.6 percent shooting.

In late November, Blatche ripped his former team during a radio interview, saying the Wizards should’ve had his back more.

“I ain't worrying about these kids no more, man,” Blatche said, according to Newsday. “I'm more concerned about other stuff.”

Wizards fans weren’t happy about Blatche’s comments. On Thursday, his ex-teammate, Trevor Booker, joked to the Washington Post, “I hope he makes it out alive.”

“To be honest with you, they can boo as loud as they want,” Blatche said, according to the Washington Post. “They supposed to now because I don’t play for them.”
