Go small against Knicks? Not Nets
By Mike Mazzeo
The Brooklyn Nets will go with their usual starting lineup -- Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Reggie Evans and Brook Lopez -- against the New York Knicks on Monday afternoon.
There was thought that they could go with a smaller lineup with Wallace at power forward, given that Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is a small four. Anthony has averaged 37 points in three games against the Nets this season.
• Interim coach P.J. Carlesimo said everyone is healthy and available.
• Williams has increased his first-quarter scoring this season. Since Dec. 28, he’s averaging 7.0 first-quarter points per game.
"I wasn’t aware of it. I’m glad," Carlesimo said. "I hope he gets it up to 27.7. But I'm not really concerned where he gets them as long a he gets them throughout the game."
